Fall Concerts in the Park: Music, Food, and Community in Downtown Guntersville
Cooler temperatures, cozy evenings, and live music–what more could you ask for this fall in Guntersville? The Mountain Valley Arts Council’s Fall Concerts in the Park series is back, bringing fun vibes every Thursday evening at Errol Allan Park from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Whether you’re into country, soul, rock, or funky grooves, this year’s lineup has something for everyone. Bring your lawn chairs, your crew, and your appetite. Lena’s Rolling Kitchen will be serving up tasty food and drinks to keep you fueled all night long.
Here’s What’s Coming Up:
September 25 –Jake Leg Stompers
Kicking off the fall series, Jake Leg Stompers return with their unforgettable blend of “Chicken-Fried Pre-War Hokum-billy Jug” music. This Memphis-based group brings pre-1941 American music to life using period instruments and an unmatched spirit. From jug band to Appalachian hillbilly to Fats Waller-style swing, their set will keep you entertained all night long.
October 2 – Country Case
Hailing from Albertville, Country Case brings a heartfelt Southern sound to the park. This band has been performing for over 15 years in venues across North Alabama and is making their second appearance with MVAC. Lead singer Trent Slaton and his crew know how to deliver a country show that keeps you swaying, singing, and smiling.
October 9 –The Groove
If you’re in the mood to dance, The Groove has you covered. This Huntsville-based band delivers a high-energy mix of pop, funk, and soul from the ’60s to today. With both male and female lead vocals and a powerhouse band behind them, their sound is versatile, dynamic, and seriously fun.
October 11-12 –Lake City FallFest
Mark your calendar for a weekend full of fall fun and even more live music at Lake City FallFest. The Friday night headliner is the Little German Band, followed by a Saturday lineup that includes the Guntersville School choirs, Soul Survivor with Pat Upton, Jr., and more. Plan to spend the weekend downtown soaking up tunes, autumn weather, and community spirit.
October 16 –Hard on the Chickens
Yes, you read that right. This uniquely named trio delivers a solid mix of classic rock, Motown, blues, and Americana with tight harmonies and a playful stage presence. Named after a mischievous dog, Hard on the Chickens features local legends Mark Thompson, Jimmy Rowell, and John Elrod. Each has deep roots in Alabama’s music scene.
October 23 –Triple Play
Known for “Classic Rock the Way It Should Be,” Triple Play is a band from North Alabama that plays long, energetic sets of rock favorites. These guys bring decades of experience to the stage and love interacting with the crowd. Their October 23 show will include a brief intermission for door prize drawings, so come early, stay late, and rock out.
October 30 – Tosha Hill
Closing out the series is the incredible Tosha Hill, a singer-songwriter with deep roots in Muscle Shoals and a voice that’ll give you chills. With a soulful sound that blends country and Americana, Tosha has written with legends like John Oates and shared stages with Jason Isbell and Lonestar.
Whether you come for the music, the food, or just a good time with your neighbors, the Fall Concerts in the Park are the perfect way to enjoy fall in Marshall County.
Heads up: If weather gets in the way, the concert may move to Guntersville Town Hall.
