Eagle Awareness at Lake Guntersville State Park

Eagle Awareness Weekends at Lake Guntersville State Park has been a tradition since 1985, created in partnership with Alabama’s Bald Eagle Restoration Program. In 2025, these exciting weekends are scheduled for January 24-26 and January 31 – February 1. During this event, you’ll have the unique opportunity to witness bald eagles and other birds of prey while soaking in the stunning views of Lake Guntersville.

The weekends feature a variety of activities, including presentations from speakers, up-close encounters with birds of prey, and guided hikes through the eagles’ natural habitat. You can also capture the moment with lots of photo opportunities with these majestic creatures.
