Things to Do in Marshall County this November

November has arrived, and Marshall County is ready for a month with holiday magic and exciting festivities! From tree lightings, parades and downtown celebrations, there are countless ways to soak up the holiday cheer right here in our community. While you’re embracing the holiday spirit, it’s also the perfect time to start checking off your Christmas shopping list—and don’t forget, we have four wonderful downtowns filled with local shops to explore. Here’s your guide to everything happening this November in Marshall County to kick off the season!


Hometown Market Place
This two-day festive event will take place on November 15 – 16 at the VFW Fairgrounds in Boaz! Enjoy browsing over 100 vendors offering unique crafts, antiques, a petting zoo, kids’ zone, food trucks, and even snow! Admission is $5 per person, and kids 18 and under get in free. Sand Mountain Showdown Adaptive Basketball
Catch the Sand Mountain Showdown on November 13 at Sand Mountain Park! Watch as the University of Alabama and Auburn University teams face off, with tip-off starting at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and you can purchase your tickets here!

Sand Mountain Skate
Sand Mountain Skate is back for a third year and bigger and better than ever! The largest outdoor real ice rink in North Alabama is now located in Downtown Albertville at the Farmers Market parking lot. The season will kick off on November 21 and runs through January 11. There will be on-site concessions with hot chocolate, cider, and yummy holiday snacks! Or you can venture and enjoy many of the restaurants and shops in Downtown Albertville! Festival of Trees
Festival of Trees starts Thursday, November 21 at the Guntersville Museum! During museum hours you can check out all of the decorated trees that are themed by different businesses and organizations in our community. For more information check at the Guntersville Musuem here!

Albertville Thanksgiving and Christmas Parade
The Albertville Chamber of Commerce will kick off the holiday season in style with the Thanksgiving and Christmas Parade on Thursday, November 21 at 5:30 p.m.

Downtown Albertville Block Party – Holiday Edition
Celebrate the holiday season at the Downtown Albertville Block Party on Friday, November 22, from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy all the local shops and restaurants, and don’t miss the chili cook-off! Click here to register!

Runnin’ for Rescues 5K & 10K
Don’t miss out on the Runnin’ for Rescues race on Saturday, November 23, at the Boaz Rec Center. Register for the 5K or 10K to support the Second Chance Shelter, a non-profit no-kill dog shelter. To register, click here!

Christmas in the Park
Starting the day after Thanksgiving, Arab City Park transforms into Christmas in the Park, featuring over two million lights illuminating every night until 9:30 p.m. This free event is the perfect family outing to experience holiday magic!

Santa in the Village
Every year on the day after Thanksgiving, the magic of the holidays comes to the Arab Historic Village. For four consecutive weekends Santa at the Village will run every Friday and Saturday night from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Visitors come from near and far to stroll through Santa’s Village, an over-the-top display of holiday joy. You’ll meet Mr. Claus himself see the Phillips’ Blacksmith Shop and watch them work on reindeer shoes, check out Santa’s Bedroom, and even make a bag of reindeer food for you and your kids to be able to take home!
